Collaborating Proposal to TTTISM

Dear TTTISM,

I hope you are well.

I very much appreciated our online meeting in March and the correspondence we have had since then.

As we have discussed, I would be interested in translating your Instagram account into Mandarin. This initial idea has led to my current proposal. I am writing to you to ask whether you would be interested in a possible collaboration that would lead to the setting up of a Chinese social media account to showcase your work.

As an MA student of Applied Imagination at Central Saint Martins, I’ve been building a website to share my research into the history and current state of tattoo art.

Through my research I have come to believe that bringing TTTISM directly to China would be a valuable enterprise.

I believe that people in China would be thrilled to know more about Western tattoo art and tattoo history and if you had a presence on Chinese social media Chinese users would be able to learn from the most qualified tattoo artist.

With the “firewall” most Chinese users cannot see TTTISM content on Instagram. Therefore, setting up a TTTISM account on Chinese social media channels like Weibo and WeChat would be a great opportunity for TTTISM to be open to Chinese audiences, even for establishing a potential Sang Bleu Shanghai in the future.

I would be able to help TTTISM manage these platforms, translate articles and customize the content to fit into the Chinese censorship. 120,000 Chinese students study in UK every year and most of them will go back to China. They would be our best target audiences in the future.

I sincerely hope that you find the proposal interesting.

Please let me know if you have questions or would like to talk further.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Jinnan Xie
